I’m running 7 half marathons in 7 days – from Monday 17 November to Sunday 23 November – totalling 153km.

Why 153km? Because it was 153 days from when my mate Dan “Deej” Dalton found out he had cancer to the day he passed away, aged just 38. This challenge is my way of keeping his legend status alive, telling his story, and using it to help other lads catch things earlier.
If you find a lump, something doesn’t feel right, or something has changed – go and get it checked straight away. Don’t wait. That’s the message behind this whole week.
THE STORY BEHIND 153KM FOR DEEJ
Dan “Deej” Dalton was a mate, a proper good guy, a legend. His free spirit was a huge inspiration and motivation to just be yourself.
153 days is no time at all, that number stuck with me, so I wanted to turn it into something powerful to remember him by.
This is for him, for his family and friends, and for every bloke we've lost along the way to Cancer.

WHY MOVEMBER?
Movember isn’t just about moustaches. They fund work around testicular and prostate cancer, early detection, men’s mental health, and suicide prevention – all the stuff lads often ignore.
Deej didn’t have a Movember connection, but Movember supports the kind of projects that help guys spot things early and talk more. If this challenge gets even one lad to book a doctor’s appointment, it’s worth all 153km.
This one’s for Deej. For the lads we’ve lost. And for the ones we can still help.
